Performance
of Gregorian Chants in ruins of St Walrick chapel
It was
some 600 years ago that monks could be heard singing in
their monastery in the middle of the woods near
Overasselt.
The
monastery has gone since long and the chapel, which was
built at this place later on, has been a ruin for
centuries.
Beside
this chapel, devoted to Saint Walrick, we find the
so-called fever tree in which people hang all sorts of
cloths hoping they will be cured of their fever. In the
very early morning of Saturday
3 April once more Gregorian Chants were
heard in this place. Just like 600 years ago, now in the
open air.
